MotionQ ("we", "us") is a mobile application for tracking vehicle maintenance, expenses, fuel, reminders and documents. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what your choices are. For any question, write to support@motionq.app.
When you sign up we store your email address and, if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, the basic profile they share (name, email). Authentication is handled by Supabase.
This content is stored in your private space in our database (Supabase, Postgres with Row-Level Security) and storage bucket. Other users cannot access it.
Subscriptions (MotionQ Pro) are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details.
Some features send data to an AI model to save you typing:
These requests go through our own secure proxy server to an AI provider (OpenRouter). They are used only to produce the response shown to you: we do not use your photos or messages to train models, and the proxy stores no copies of them. AI features are optional — the app works fully without them.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Provide the service (sync, backup) | Account, vehicles, expenses, photos | Contract |
| AI convenience features | Photos or text you choose to submit | Consent (per use) |
| Fixing crashes and bugs | Diagnostics | Legitimate interest |
| Improving the product | Anonymous usage analytics | Legitimate interest |
| Subscriptions | Purchase state (no card data) | Contract |
We share data only with the processors that run the app, only to the extent needed:
Supabase OpenRouter (via our proxy) Sentry PostHog (EU) RevenueCat Apple / Google
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your records is enforced at the database level with Row-Level Security — every query is scoped to your account. API secrets for AI features live on our server, never inside the app.
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual vehicles, records and photos at any time in the app. Deleting your account (Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing us) permanently removes your account and all associated data from our systems. Crash logs and analytics are retained for a limited period by the respective providers and then deleted automatically.
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@motionq.app.
MotionQ is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If we make material changes we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate notify you in the app.
